Contact tracing is key to slowing the spread of COVID-19 and helps protect you, your family, and your community

Plan B Students return to In Person Instruction 4 days/week on Feb 22

All Plan B Elementary Students (K-5) will begin 4 days a week of in person instruction beginning on February 22, 2021. The new schedule will be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for in person instruction in the classroom. Wednesday will continue to be a remote learning day. This change will not affect Elementary Plan C students (Virtual Learning Students) or High School, Middle School or Bright Adventures students.

Bright Adventures After School applications are here!

Bright Adventures After School applications are here! Your child must be enrolled for the 2021-2022 school year at Bright Adventures to be eligible. Acceptance will be prioritized by need as spaces are limited. Applications close on August 24th and acceptance letters will be sent home on August 26th. After School at Bright Adventures will begin August 31st, is free, and is open 3-5:30 Monday-Friday on regular school days.

Voluntary Student Accident Insurance

Parents may wish to consider purchasing the voluntary Student Accident Insurance available online at www.k12studentinsurance.com. There are various options and coverages available. The voluntary coverage is a primary coverage and you may apply for this coverage on-line or by mail using the applications below. All Kids 18 and Younger Eat Free at Swain County School Cafeterias
Swain High, East and West Cafeterias open for meal pick-up June 14th- August 6th, Monday- Friday 7:30am- 1:30pm (closed Mon. July 5th)

Families may pick up 5 or 2 days of meals at a time, 2 times per week for total of 7 meals/week. Groups of 10 or more kids call ahead for pick up/ delivery

Weather Warning - February 16, 2021

Swain County Schools will issue a WEATHER WARNING when weather conditions are or will be present that have the potential for delays or cancellation of school. WEATHER WARNINGS will be issued in advance so that our community can be prepared IF school is delayed or cancelled. The Warning will also alert our community to the possibility of weather situations during travel as well as for students who wait on buses. Please note that the WARNING does not mean schools will be delayed or cancelled, only that the possibility exists. Check all Maroon Devil media outlets for updates, delays or cancellations.
